In our Reviewing Related Research (R3) workshop, we share effective techniques and common mistakes to avoid for finding and evaluating evidence from research that others have done. Using worksheets that we developed, participants practice the steps to finding and synthesizing information about their own program or topic.

Three-hour advanced workshop on reviewing related research

In October 2016, Bernadette Wright and Ladel Lewis presented an advanced professional development workshop on reviewing related research at Evaluation 2016 in Atlanta, Georgia, hosted by the American Evaluation Association. In this workshop, “Little Is Known? Designing More Useful Reviews of Related Research Evidence,” participants learned how to find and evaluate research evidence, to avoid saying “little is known” and to capture valuable, yet often-overlooked information.
